Abstract Come learn how virtual worlds can become professional learning communities and be a reason to travel with your students collaboratively. Dip your toes in the water and see what experiences one PBS educator has had as an explorer and presenter welcomed in many communities in Second Life.  Share some wonderful landmarks and talk about how powerful it can be to share other online resources in new ways through Second Life to this global community!
Bio(s): Kimberly Flack: Kimberly Flack (aka Kimmer Jameson in SL) is the Associate General Manager of Education and Outreach for Eight – Arizona PBS (Public Television).  In this role she provides face to face professional development to educators, parents and community members as well as online work.  Kimberly ties PBS resources to community efforts and PreK-12 core standards.  She has been an active member of Second Life since 2006 and an ISTE member since 2003.  In 2010, Kimberly received the My Source Education Innovation Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for her work in Second Life with her local PBS affiliate station, Eight – Arizona PBS.She currently is also adjunct faculty for Rio Salado College and teaches online child development courses.  Kimberly’s education background includes 17 years in the classroom at the high school and community college level in special education, journalism and social studies.
